I wouldn’t consider myself a frugal person. I am not cheap either. I prefer to call myself careful.

I like to spend money but I like to save it too. I always, always have to make certain that I am getting the best deal available. I really strive to save money on absolutely everything that I do.

I tend to shop a lot online for a variety of reasons. I work at home. I have three children. I probably don’t need to say much more!

Here is one of my biggest money saving tips when shopping online:

When checking out on an online shopping site, if you see a box that says Coupon Code, Promotion Code, Discount Code or anything similar, STOP checking out, open another browser page and immediately search {COMPANY NAME} Coupon Code. Try to name your search EXACTLY what they call the discount or coupon code.

The place that I use is RetailMeNot.com. Even if you haven’t heard of them, you have probably used their site. If you search any kind of coupon code, RetailMeNot.com almost always comes up first in the search.

Try it now. Go search Crocs Coupon Code and see who is first. RetailMeNot.com is not first because they paid some company to get them the top listing in a search engine. RetailMeNot.com is first because they consistently have the best, unexpired, valid coupon codes for pretty much any online shopping site out there.

I have been using RetailMeNot.com for years. Seriously. Years. It is the first place I go when I even begin to shop online. In fact, just being on the site, encourages me to go shop because I may see a good deal or I am reminded about some store that I had not seen in a while.
