It was a beautiful day the other day so we headed to the park. I finally got to take pictures of the girls swinging although it was a little bittersweet.

In March 2009, I started blogging for myself. I had been a writer most of my life. I had been blogging for years for others. Attending the Blissdom conference gave me that last little push I needed to get my blog going.

One of the first places I found when looking for community, was SITS. They used to call themselves The Secret is in the Sauce and I just found that so funny. And true!

I jumped right in. I loved that I would leave a link to my blog and tons of people would visit. In turn, I would do the same thing and I found some amazing blogs along the way. Many of them I still subscribe to today.

Today the name is The Secret to Success is Support and that is so true.

The sense of community was addicting. I loved that I felt like I was a part of something bigger. I was in the company of people who got the online world because let’s face it, a lot people don’t, do they?

I have had this Groupon for pony rides for the kids for almost a year. They have been dying to take lessons so I thought a pony ride would be a good place to start. I really had no idea how much they would love it.

Before they ride, they have to brush their pony.

She was not at all too sure at first. In fact, she was downright terrified. We thought that she would get right off. But the amazing trainers worked with her.

My middle child was next. She is the one who has been begging for lessons.

Next, they brought out the big guy:

My youngest was thrilled to get on the bigger horse. She looks so little.

Of course you have to tip your pony! Good thing we brought carrots:

This girl (named Tootsie Roll) just wanted to nuzzle the kids.

It was a good day!

I highly recommend taking lessons from Trip at Fruition Farm here in Atlanta (or Palmetto and Smyrna to be exact). Give them a call but make certain that you get Trip. He gives lessons and really was just born to work with horses and kids. 404-512-0834

My son was very excited about getting this free ride. He asked for pen and paper. He wrote everything down so I would have the information I needed to call and get him his free ride in a police car.

She has been begging for over a year to take classes. She dances and twirls around the house constantly. Her favorite phrase is, “Me a ballerina!” (she is only four)

I finally signed her up and she started classes last weekend. She could not contain her excitement when we shopped for the shoes. She slept with them the first night. She likes to look at them every day.

She smiled the entire class and paid very close attention to the teacher but made certain that I was watching her the entire time.

This was a big day. For all of us.

My little ballerina.

I cannot believe that you are seven today. It seems like yesterday when we used to laugh about your ever present pouty face.

Who knew then that one of your best features would be your smile?

Who knew that you had enough personality to fill a room? Or even an entire building?

You are an amazing child. Curious. Smart. Wonderful to be around.

You are a kind and compassionate younger sister. You are a knowledgeable and fabulous older sister.

Our lives are infinitely better because you are in them. We are lucky to have you!

Seriously…this place exists. We were just driving around in the North Georgia mountains while on a short vacation and stumbled across this place.

There were goats. On the roof. Totally bizarre yet kind of interesting.

They managed to design a way (several ways actually) for customers to pay to feed the goats. Genius.

You put a quarter in the machine to get some feed. You put the feed in the cup. Then you peddle the bike:
