2012 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan – A Closer Look

I have never been a huge minivan person. I buy a new car (well a used car anyway) every 3-5 years and minivans are just not something that I ever look at. Honestly, I have would felt like I was giving up a piece of myself by looking at and/or diving a minivan. To me, it is that final jump that says all I am is a mother and that’s it. As a result, I drive an SUV. I have driven them for years and frankly just not considered anything else.

I was excited to test drive the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan. I had heard great things about it and a close friend told me that once she traded in her SUV for it, she would not consider anything else. She loves her T & C.

The 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan is one of the best-selling and safest minivans available. This van received the highest ratings in safety test performed by IIHS.org and overall four stars on safecar.gov. It comes equipped with multiple airbags surrounding the driver and passenger.

ALL ABOUT SAFETY

There are anti-pinch safety windows to protect child passengers. Its seat belts also adjust to the correct height for maximum protection. All seats have head restraints. The mirrors are made to reduce blind spots.

It also comes with a built-in back-up camera and is equipped with anti-lock brakes for safer stopping. LED turn signals in the mirrors give added security in traffic. Additional safety features include tire pressure monitoring, rear parking assistance, stability and traction control.

ALL ABOUT THE EXTRAS

The 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan is considered a luxury vehicle. The third row seating, dual DVD screens, and surround sound system make this minivan the ideal vehicle for families. Another entertainment feature included is the media center with a 404GB hard drive to store music and movies to watch during those long drives.

We loved the heated steering wheel, leather trim, navigation system, and keyless entry and start. All rear seats easily fold down to provide extra storage space when needed. Other optional features include height adjusting leveling suspension, and removable second row bucket seats, and a power sunroof.

This model also comes with smart headlights that automatically turn on and adjust from low to high to maximize viewing distance and avoids blinding oncoming traffic. It also has a gas-saving V-6 engine with 283 horsepower that is capable of towing 3600 pounds when outfitted with the towing package.

The average gas mileage for the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country Minivan is 20 miles per gallon.
